The Montevideo Estate, managed by the Guirola family for nearly five generations, spans 380 acres on the San Salvador volcano at 1300-1700 meters altitude. Committed to community support, the farm also focuses on environmental preservation. Historically, El Salvador was a major coffee exporter, peaking in 1975 with 3.8 million bags.  Most coffee is produced by smallholders, though 80% of production is controlled by 14% of producers. The shift towards quality coffee aligns with global trends and the emergence of new-generation coffee farmers.
